dependencies

Post by Kusalo »

Hi, I am a day new to wonderCMS and am loving it. My main move is to install it on my (android) phone and work off-grid. I have php installed and working but am currently exploring and experimenting on my PC [localhost].

I see in theme.php and some plugins a call to jquery and bootstrap. I figure there is no way around this? Feel free to share any thoughts.

I can set both jquery and bootstrap in my php phone-set but wonder if there is any way of resetting the call in installed themes, plugins ... other than manually? I figure there won't be that many but just future thinking.

I also wonder about versions.
The call to jquery seems to be jquery-1.12.4.min.js
bootstrap/3.3.7/
Is there any benefit in using a more recent version or will the older versions be good 'for quite some time to come?' Certainly the lighter load is good.

I look forward to hearing from you and to further working with wonderCMS
cheers - Kusalo

And I have found this: viewtopic.php?t=3174
with the suggestion that different themes/plugins are calling different versions?
A manual review to establish consistency would seem worthwhile.
And summerNote-editor still has a wide number of www dependency loads.

I am sorry to bang on here but library inclusions does seem to be an issue... certainly for me who particularly wants to work offline.

I found this: viewtopic.php?t=3345
It is a couple of years old and doesn't seem to work. I tried searching for 'summernote-lite' but didn't find anything. Any leads plz.?

Hello. I don’t quite understand your question, do you want to work with the CMS locally? Why go to the trouble of installing all this on your phone?
To be honest, I tried to type up the website content on my phone and it was a terrible and time-consuming process. The essence of the CMS is not to turn the nuts on your phone, but to directly help you place content on the pages of the site, nothing more.
if you want to work locally at home, you can deploy the CMS on a local server and connect from your phone to it via Wi-Fi, and you don’t have to install anything on your phone.
IMHO - phones are not for creation at all, but for viewing something already created.
