[SOLVED] How don't have url with diacritics

Post by sopkomir »

Please, I'm Slovak and I noticed in the Wonder CMS demo that it does this: if you enter a new page in the menu with name Článok (in SK Post), it writes in the menu https://www.wondercms.com/demo/čl-aacute-nok (not https://www.wondercms.com/demo/článok) and the title is not Článok, but Čl Aacute Nok.

How this could be solved to remove accents and create a link for example ../clanok ?

Hi Sopkomir, welcome to the community!

We remove special letters in the demo.
However, when you download WonderCMS and use it on your server, it should work normally.

Check the screenshot below with the example you posted (Článok): https://paste.pics/9d409a2059aa24d063b4b3da860e9e20

Hi, wiz, thanx for you answer. Yeah, it works, but I would need to place an "Článok" url link have "clanok" - without diacritics. Sorry, I'm probably very conservative, but I prefer url addresses without diacritics. What should be modified?
I promise, to look at the Slovak translation of Wonder CMS (maybe also Czech).

Hi Sopkomir.

This is going to be a tough one, but it is possible.
You would have to modify your WonderCMS "index.php" file - basically creating your own fork/modification of WonderCMS.

Doing this would means that each time you update your WonderCMS, it will overwrite any changes you have made prior to the update.
If you would like to commit to maintining your own version and applying and future WonderCMS upgrades manually each time, I'll gladly help you out.

In regards to being conservative, I used to be exactly the same opinion until I saw Amazon or Alibaba using them as well.
I don't believe having special characters will cause any issues.

Hope this helps.
