WonderCMS Review

Post by cmscritic »

I just wanted to share that I just completed a WonderCMS review over on CMS Critic. I'd love feedback from users in the comments as to whether I've missed anything, etc.

As the project founder, I'd like to thank you for your review. I have to say I'm really impressed by awesomeness of the review and have to agree with you on some points.
I'd consider it more of a flat file CMS than a website builder as I tend to attribute the term "website builder" to systems that include hosting and everything all in one package, such as Weebly or Wix for instance.
This is definitely true for now, we have changed the description on our about page to "free website editor", we agreed that sounds better - please let us know what you think. (https://www.wondercms.com/about). We'll be however offer hosting soon, which will enable users to get WonderCMS already pre-installed alongside their hosting and domain purchase. Once we get more plugins in action, we'll be able to put that "builder" to it's full sense.
I have no idea why the word "gray" is prepopulated but functionally, it works.
This happened probably because you have selected the word gray in our demo text. The editor thinks you've already selected the text to use as a video URL.

Please note that the Summernote editor is not included by default, if this was not clear we've added an extra text in our demo for clarification - we've added what plugins are used on the demo example page - https://www.wondercms.com/demo/example (this is also noted on our home page - https://www.wondercms.com). The Summernote WYSIWYG is also not developed by us and the default editor for WonderCMS is plain HTML editing. I understand the editor is not perfect, and we're trying to work on our own version which would get rid of the described frustrations, we really appreciate the feedback.

One of our missions is to create a perfect CMS core which wouldn't be updated often because of it's stability and provide everything else with plugins (which should be also easily update-able as described in our short term road map: https://github.com/robiso/wondercms/iss ... -216995413).

Thank you for the review Mike! We'll continue trying to deliver our best based on feedback like this.
